CarriersEdge Expands Library with New Training Modules

Markham,ON - November 16, 2011- CarriersEdge, the leading provider of online driver improvement programs, today announced the addition of several new modules to its library of online driver training courses. Among the new titles are Introduction au CSA pour les Chauffeurs - the French version of its popular Introduction to CSA for Drivers course - and a completely redesigned suite of Hours of Service (HOS) courses.

The new HOS courses - including both Canadian and U.S. regulations - expand on previous versions with more real-world scenarios and a broader look at factors affecting HOS management, including trip planning, inspections, fatigue management, and general driver wellness. The enhanced content reflects best practices captured during the Best Fleets to Drive For program, an annual evaluation of the best employers in the North American trucking industry, produced by CarriersEdge in partnership with Truckload Carriers Association.

"While conducting the Best Fleets to Drive For surveys over the past couple of years, we've seen a real shift in the way fleets are approaching Hours of Service planning and management", said Mark Murrell, President of CarriersEdge. "Our new HOS courses incorporate those findings, going beyond the specifics of the regulations to provide a more holistic education in logbook management."

With Introduction au CSA pour les Chauffeurs, the CarriersEdge library of French courses now includes nearly 16 hours of safety and regulatory content. The course, explaining FMCSA's Compliance, Safety, Accountability program, had been a regular request from Quebec-based carriers, but the complexity of the material presented multiple challenges for developers.

"Translating this CSA course was a significant undertaking for our development team", noted Jane Jazrawy, VP Product Development at CarriersEdge. "With none of the regulations and little related terminology translated, the content production job was an order of magnitude more complex than what we typically see. The resulting course not only explains the components of the program, but demonstrates how they're applied and what they mean in the context of a driver's typical day, as well."

CarriersEdge subscription customers automatically receive all modules as part of their subscriptions. Modules can also be purchased individually through CarriersEdge partners across the country.
