Toronto, ON - October 3, 2011- The Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) has partnered with CarriersEdge, to add a comprehensive list of on-line training courses to its "Learning Solutions" program. The OTA branded on-line training will be available in both subscription and piecemeal form, offering members a variety of pricing and packaging options that is unique in the Canadian marketplace.
The OTA E-Learning Solutions Subscription Service will offer members unlimited access to a full library of courses for a fixed monthly subscription fee. Courses in the library include Defensive Driving, Hours of Service and Logbooks, Transportation of Dangerous Goods, Cargo Securement, Vehicle Inspection and CSA, among others.
The OTA E-Learning Solutions Marketplace will include courses from CarriersEdge and other vendors, packaged for individual sale, allowing members to purchase and track a variety of e-Learning products through one on-line account.
OTA sees e-Learning as an opportunity for members to stay on top of training issues in a cost effective flexible manner. OTA piloted the CarriersEdge product with a number of member fleets and here is what some of them had to say:

The expansion of e-Learning offerings comes after more than two years of working together on industry certification programs.
"OTA has been working with CarriersEdge through the joint administration and development of the LCV registration/training database. This relationship allowed us to really see the potential of a more complete e-Learning solution," said Joanne Benac, V.P. Membership and Product Services, for OTA.
"Through our partnership with CarriersEdge we are creating a one-stop, one registration service for e-Learning courses for the trucking industry — driver or management courses" said OTA Senior V.P. Stephen Laskowski. "As this partnership grows we plan to add more titles to the library as issues develop so that a carrier who is a customer of OTA e-Learning Solutions need never worry that they are unaware of issues that require either driver or terminal staff training."
The OTA E-Learning Solutions Subscription Service is available immediately. To help kick off the launch a two week free trial will be open to OTA members only.
The OTA E-Learning Solutions Marketplace is scheduled for release in October.
